CODE OF CONDUCT

1. As representatives of MUVC, all Athletes and their affiliated persons, are expected to behave in a respectful and courteous manner that displays good sports-person qualities at all times.


2. All Athletes are expected to behave in a responsible and respectful manner towards all members of the community.

2.1 This includes but is not limited to individuals such as teammates, referees, coaches, members of MUVC, any member of the opposing or duty team, parents, volunteers, and spectators.


3. Athletes are expected to respect their coaches’ decisions, and to listen to the advice and instructions of their coach/es.


4. Athletes MUST NOT verbally or physically abuse any individual during any matches, trainings, or any other services or events offered by VWA, MUVC or other volleyball-related organisation.

4.1 Verbal abuse includes but is not limited to words that are used to intimidate, ridicule, or degrade another person.

4.2 Verbal abuse includes but is not limited to disparaging and discriminatory comments.

4.3 Physical abuse includes but is not limited to any act or gesture that attempts or threatens to apply force to any person without their consent.


5. Athletes are expected to always act as good sports-people during games, towards the opposing team and referees.


6. Athletes are expected to be punctual for their matches, trainings, and duty matches. Athletes are expected to notify their coach within a reasonable time should they be unable to attend their matches, trainings or duty matches.


7. If an Athlete is on duty, they are expected to officiate opposition teams in an unbiased manner with integrity and professionalism.


8. Athletes must always prioritise safety and welfare over the outcome of the match.


9. Athletes are expected to understand and play by the rules of the game.


10. Athletes must always respect the use of facilities and equipment provided.

10.1 This includes being accountable for MUVC provided volleyballs; aiding to set-up the nets; and removing the nets after use.

10.2 Athletes are required to ensure the return of all MUVC provided volleyballs at the end of each WAVL match, any balls that are unaccounted for will be charged to the team as a fee payable by the end of the WAVL season.
